Plans For the Future

Our focus character trait for this Spring of 2014 is Service.  It is our desire to help them learn that doing for others helps them to grow in their understanding and appreciation of those with whom they come in contact.  In late December the students were given T-Shirts as a gift from Dr. and Mrs. Bell.  We believe that these can foster unity and pride among the children.  Tentative plans for developing a Running Club for the children is being considered as Dr. and Mrs. Bell’s adult children are avid runners,   Converting  an old school bus to a gardening teaching lab for the students is already in process

 

Electricity and  an irrigation system was installed in the garden area this past Fall by Christian Irrigation System our hope is to be able to have a productive garden for this summer of 2014.   KU Gardens has proven to be a means of broadening children’s awareness of the natural world and connecting them to a community effort.  Eric Miller has been assisting Dr. Bell with clearing the garden and making plans for the teaching lab.  It is our desire to have a successful garden this summer with the help of the irrigation system.

Once again,we are grateful the generosity of the Dan Paul Foundation and their support of this effort helping to make Kids University become a reality.
